What our clients say about Amber Lights
One of the best function bands I’ve seen in a while. They looked like they were having so much on stage, the crowd was going nuts in front of them, and there was an all-around great vibe at the venue throughout the night. It was so refreshing seeing musicians have that much fun on stage, the ceilidh only added to the night, and all of us had such a great time listening to them play. Hope to see them again soon!
Melanie Douglas
The Amber Lights were professional and so easy to work with at our wedding. We loved Honza’s version of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” for our first dance, and were so happy to have the brass section there to really bring something special to the evening. Their repertoire was incredibly diverse, and our guests gave us so many compliments regarding the band all night. Thank you to Honza and the rest of the band for being there on our special day.

Hey guys, just wanted to get in touch to say again how fun it was having you play at our wedding. We are so grateful to Pete for calling the ceilidh and getting everyone organized, I know a lot of us struggled but we got there largely due to his help haha. It really got everybody moving and from then on, the night just went up and up. Everyone was having a great time, the dancefloor was buzzing and the set list was incredibly wide. It was such a wholesome evening for so many reasons, and one of those was the quality of your performance. Wishing you all the best guys,
Euan Pettrie
Thank you Mel for singing our first dance, it meant so much to us! The band was so professional, they sounded great, we loved having the brass there and most importantly we had such a fun time dancing all night. Thank you for taking requests and getting everybody dancing the slosh as well haha. Really grateful you were there to keep the party going throughout the night.

I just wanted to say again thank you for playing at our wedding. The dance floor was so busy all night, everyone was up on their feet, and the whole performance really helped bring our special day to a fantastic close. You even got my parents to dance…which is saying a lot… honestly a great night all around and John and I are both so so grateful.
Abby & John Maitland
Amber Lights were perfect for our wedding. Both the male and female vocalist had a great repertoire covering a whole bunch of songs and era’s, giving everyone a song to sing and dance along to on the night. So many of our guests came up to ask about the band’s name and mentioned how fun and energetic the whole performance was. I would highly recommend booking this band for your event, they won’t disappoint.

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you, but I wanted to personally say thank you for how you played at our wedding last month. You were absolutely fantastic, ticked all the boxes both in the context of music and general professionalism. Having the brass there really added to the evening and I was so impressed at how big the band sounded. I wish you guys all the best in the future!

HI! Just wanted to send over a wee email to say thank you again for such a brilliant night! You really helped bring the whole night together, everyone had a great time, and I was so happy to see everyone onto the dance floor. Your version of “Perfect” for the first dance was so lovely and the ceilidh was great as well. All the best guys, and thanks again!
Angus Gordon.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much time do you need for set up & sound check?
We need around an hour to complete our set up and sound check.
What are your standard performance times?
During a standard 4 hour set, we tend to play x3 hour long sets, with x3 breaks throughout the evening.
I'm not sure what my timings are going to be yet, is there any flexibility on the standard timings?
Yes, absolutely! Mel will be your point of contact, and she will be in touch with you in the weeks leading up to your big day.
Can I pick the songs that you'll play on the night?
During peak months, we don’t learn any extra songs off the set list. Out-with peak times, we are happy to discuss 1 or 2 potential extra songs.
Will you learn our first dance?
Absolutely! Please make Mel aware of your first dance title, artist and provide a link to the version you like and we can make it happen.
Will the band provide background music during your break?
Yes, we have a set playlist of classic party songs that we do not play so there are no song repeats on your big night.
My venue has a 1am license, do you offer an extension to keep the night going until then?
We do offer an extension, and prices for this can be seen on your MFS contract, please discuss this with Mel in advance.
Which artists are you most influenced by?
We are a funk band at heart, so we like to put a funky spin on your typical wedding set! Bands such as Scary pockets are a huge inspiration to us, to keep things exciting!
Can you provide a ceilidh set? If so, could you give us more information about this - how long does it last, what instruments do you play, can you call the dances for our guests?
We do! Prior to your big day, Mel will be in touch to ask whether you want the ceilidh set to happen all at once, or spread through the night. Our typical ceilidh set lasts around 45 minutes (we usually recommend putting this before the evening buffet). Our ceilidh set is currently made up of drums, guitar and bass. Pete calls the dances, while Mel & Iain are available to demonstrate the dances to your guests if required.
What do you think your clients love most about your performances?
Our brass section is a huge selling point of the Amber Lights because they bring a whole new level to the big day! The big band style of music we provide is upbeat, fun and gets everyone up on the dance floor!
Do you offer any other add-on options?
If required, Mel & Pete are able to provide an acoustic set prior to the full band set for your ceremony or canape reception. If you’re interested in this offer, please get in touch with Mel.
Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?
Yes, we bring our own kit with us, and will set this up ourselves.
Do you have PAT Cert & PLI Insurance?
Our equipment is brand new so does not require a PAT test quite yet, but when it does we will be sure to get it done. The band are currently have PLI insurance.
